Combining the Model 2920 vector signal generator, Model 2820 vector signal analyzer, Model 2895 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) synchronization unit, and MIMO signal analysis software creates an RF test system that the company claims is the only one in the industry to offer support for 4X4 MIMO applications. It is also said to be the only such system to support a wide range of commercial standards including cellular, WiMAX, and WLAN. Notable specs include a ±1 ns signal sampler synchronization, less then 1 ns peak-to-peak signal sampler jitter, and less than 1° of peak-to-peak RF-carrier phase jitter. The system delivers repeatable measurements up to 6 GHz. The Models 2820 and 2920 can be set up in two-, three-, or four-channel configurations. The Model 280111 WLAN 802.11n MIMO signal analysis software performs either single- or multi-channel analysis of 802.11x signals. It features a comprehensive measurement suite for analyzing all 802.11x signals and supports 4X4 MIMO channel configurations. The software interface is reportedly easy to set up and comes with a SCPI command set.
