The NI Switch Executive open, switch-management software package helps designers route and organize switching systems in automated test applications. It makes automated testing feasible for such tasks as design validation. Also, it lets designers use switch-management technology traditionally available only in expensive, vendor-defined test systems. Rather than using low-level programming to control their switching systems, designers can take advantage of software-assisted routing. They can name channels with descriptive aliases—such as corresponding terminals, instruments, or test points—to easily identify connections. Available now, prices start at $1995.
