Device emulation capabilities have been added to the USBTracer/Trainer advanced design and verification test system. This new functionality lets users generate USB device traffic, enabling testing of USB hosts and device drivers’ ability to handle error conditions and exceptions. Device emulation gives the USBTracer/Trainer the ability to simulate device traffic, both legal and illegal, so engineers can quickly test their designs under various operating conditions as well as for standards compliance. Once created, test cases can be easily recorded, modified and played back as different scenarios for further testing of the USB system.
