Gallery: 10 Test & Measurement Apps to Save You Time

May 23, 2016
Good apps for test and measurement are surprisingly hard to find, but the right ones can save you a lot of time and effort, from equipment control to up-to-date RF spectrum allocation.

It may seem like something that would be exploding, but good apps to save time during test and measurement are actually kind of rare. That said, here are 10 that you will find useful at some point during the design cycle, especially if your design has RF elements.

The hunt for apps was actually sparked by the recent launch by Tektronix of its Keithley IVy source measure unit (SMU) app. It’s a good idea and listed as No. 5 below, but it got me wondering as to how many other test equipment vendors are connecting their systems to mobile devices for easy access. It turns out to be not all that common, with Tektronix, Keysight Technologies, and Rohde & Schwarz being the standouts from the bigger vendors.
