A proprietary, monolithic SiGe process helps the MAX19996 downconverting mixer achieve a combination of linearity, noise performance, and component integration. The single-chip 2000-MHz to 3000-MHz mixer includes an on-chip LO buffer, a mixer core, two amplifiers, two baluns, and dozens of discrete components. It provides a downconversion channel with +24.5 dBm (typ) IIP3, 8.7 dB (typ) conversion gain, and 9.6 dB (typ) noise figure. In addition, the MAX19996 offers a 2RF-2LO spurious rejection of 69 dBc for an RF level of -10 dBm, and 64 dBc for a level of -5 dBm. The MAX19996 is designed specifically for 3G/4G wireless-infrastructure applications in which high linearity and a low noise figure are critical for enhanced receiver sensitivity and blocker immunity. It’s particularly well suited for 2.3-GHz to 2.8-GHz WCS, LTE, WiMAX, and MMDS base stations. The MAX19996 is packaged in a 5-mm x 5-mm, 20-pin TQFN. Prices start at $6.90 in 1000-unit quantities.
