The AD9245 clocks in as the industry's first 3V, 14-bit 80-Msample/s a/d converter that consumes less than 500 mW of power. The device employs a multistage differential pipelined architecture with output error correction logic to provide 14-bit accuracy at its full sampling rate with no missing codes over the full operating temperature range. It provides a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 72 dB and spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 85 dBc. An integrated sample-and-hold amplifier uses a proprietary input sampling network that can be configured for single-ended or differential operation, eliminating the need for a single-ended to differential conversion stage in a single-ended system. Other features include input frequencies up to 100 MHz and a clock duty-cycle stabilizer that promises to maintain device performance over a wide range of clock pulse widths. Offered in a 32-pin CSP, price is $38.00 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES, INC., Wilmington, MA. (800) 262-5643.
