Intended for use in high-end camera phones, the LZ0P3738 debuts as the industry?s first 2-Mpixel CCD, frame interline transfer (FIT) camera module with a 2x optical inner zoom lens that is easily switched between normal and 2x zoom and does not protrude from the module. The 18.9 mm x 9.2 mm x 19.2 mm module is also said to prevent the smear phenomenon?vertical streaks of light that appear on the image under certain lighting conditions?associated with the majority of current CCDs. Other features include auto focus, a frame rate of 15 fps at VGA resolution, and an eight-bit UYVY output interface. The module will be available in the second quarter of 2005.
