ADC Samples At Better Than 2 GHz

Nov. 7, 2005
Operating at a sampling frequency of 2.2 Gsamples/s, the AT84AS008GL 10-Bit a/d converter is one of the fastest commercially available devices of its type, providing high performance over the 1st and 2nd Nyquist zones. Spurious-free dynamic range

Operating at a sampling frequency of 2.2 Gsamples/s, the AT84AS008GL 10-Bit a/d converter is one of the fastest commercially available devices of its type, providing high performance over the 1st and 2nd Nyquist zones. Spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) is specified at 55 dB and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is 51 dB, both at a rate of 2.2 Gsamples/s. The device's 3.3 GHz input bandwidth extends operation well into the 2nd Nyquist zone with essentially flat performance with SNR at 38 dB and SFDR at 55 dB. Interfacing the device to FPGAs, DSPs or ASICs is eased through a companion demux chip. The AT84AS-008GL is supplied in a 152-pin CBGA ceramic package and is available in commercial and industrial temperature ranges. Pricing is $1,100 each/1,000. ATMEL CORP., San Jose, CA.
