Claiming to deliver audiophile-quality sound, the AD199x Class-D amplifiers also boast of outperforming PWM based Class-D schemes, through the combination of single-chip design featuring an internal sigma-delta modulator and closed-loop sigma-delta architecture. The modulator and architecture are said to be responsible for significantly reducing EMI and RF emissions. The devices specify a THD of less than 0.005%, SNR beyond 101 dB, and a PSRR in excess of 65 dB. Power levels range from 4W to 40W. A modulator-only version of the device is also available. With full production quantities available in the second quarter, prices range from $2.90 to $6.72 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES INC., Wilmington, MA. (800) 262-5643.
