Coaxial VCO Features Very Low Phase Noise

The latest addition to Crystek Corp.'s line of ultra-low phase noise voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) is a coaxial resonator oscillator with a typical phase noise of -124 dBc/Hz at a 10-kHz offset and excellent linearity. The CVCO55CC-0827-0840 operates from 827 MHz to 840 MHz, with a tuning voltage range of 0.2 Vdc to 4.7 Vdc. The VCO exhibits an output power of -6 dBm typical into a 50-Ω load with a supply of +5 Vdc and a typical current consumption of 30 mA.

Pushing and pulling are both minimized to 0.05 MHz/V. Second-harmonic suppression is -18 dBc typical. The model CVCO55CC-0827-0840 comes in the industry standard 0.5-in. by 0.5-in. by 0.220-in. SMD package. The CVCO55CC-0827-0840 is well-suited for use in applications such as digital radio equipment, fixed wireless access, satellite communications systems, and base stations.
