Delta-Sigma Converter Makes Tough Measurements

The ADS1610 is a 16-bit delta-sigma a/d converter with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 86 dB, total harmonic distortion (THD) of -94 dB, and a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 95 dB over a 5-MHz bandwidth. With twice the speed of previous

With twice the speed of previous converters, it is well suited for demanding measurements in communications, scientific instrumentation, and test and measurement applications. A 4.4-MHz passband with 0.0002 dB of ripple enables wideband signal processing. An on-chip digital filter simplifies anti-aliasing requirements compared to SAR and pipeline ADCs. Operation is from a 5V analog supply and a 3V digital supply. It is housed in a 64-pin TQFP-64 package. Evaluation modules are available. Price is $29.95 each/1,000.
