Emerging as the first single-package, six-channel digital-audio amplifier power stage, the TAS5186 supports five 30W channels and one 60W channel, providing more than 200W total. The 44-pin HTSSOP device employs a unique system pre-charge feature that eliminates pops and clicks on power up and a two-stage, over-current detector, which eradicates unnecessary shut downs while protecting against short circuit conditions. Its teammate, the TAS5086 PWM processor, operates at 3.3V and specifies a dynamic range in excess of 100 dB. In a 38-pin TSSOP, the processor also provides bass management and signal routing capabilities that allows the interfacing of any input channel to any output channel.
