Based on a commitment to a cleaner, greener environment, the company has unveiled its first line of 100% lead-free, small-signal discretes in plastic surface-mount devices (SMDs). The semiconductors employ pure matte tin (100% Sn) to replace the more common tin-lead-plating. As a follow up within this initiative, the company will also convert its glass and ceramic products to all lead-free, prior to impending legislation that will mandate the manufacture of only lead-free products as of July 2006.
