Accelerometers Span Range Of Monitoring And Control Applications

Jan. 1, 1999

The Model 50 Isotron accelerometer, which is capable of operating from a 12V battery or wall transformer, is said to open up new applications in automotive monitoring and machine conditioning, as well as effectively addressing existing applications in these and other markets. The compact device offers a dynamic range of ±40g. Dimensions are 0.285" high x 0.5" diameter for the 3.8-gram sensor. The device includes an integral amplifier and is configured to work in a constant-current mode. Voltage sensitivity is 50 mV/g with amplitude response of 1 to 5000 Hz (±1 dB). Also, an integral magnet provides for magnetic mounting.
