Elvira Palmeda, quality director for the automotive business segment at Infineon Technologies AG, will join Auto Electronics magazine contributing editor Randy Frank in a webinar, “Meeting the Demands for Zero Defects in Auto Applications.” The webinar will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern time (10 a.m. Pacific) on Thursday, April 27. To register free of charge, visit http://autoelectronics.com/webinars/zero-defects/.

Judy Miller, associate publisher of Auto Electronics magazine, said the April 27 webinar is the first in a series to be sponsored by Auto Electronics. Future topics include “Intelligently Powering Future Vehicles,” “Wireless Networks,” “Sensing Issues in Active Safety Systems,” and “Addressing Time-to-Market and Flexibility in Vehicle Electronics.”

“With increasing pressure from automakers to improve reliability, the term ‘zero defects’ is not just being used--it is being enforced,” said Frank, who will moderate the webinar. “As suppliers scramble to meet this goal as well as achieve zero incidences and zero ppm, a number of approaches in both design and manufacturing are providing significant progress. This seminar will focus on approaches being used in the power electronics arena.”

Palmeda is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction at Infineon through the company’s global Automotive Excellence program. Prior to joining Infineon, she held quality engineering management positions at Delphi Electronics and Safety, and Intel Corp.

Randy Frank is president of Randy Frank & Associates Inc., a semiconductor industry consulting firm headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ.
