iSuppli Corp. has acquired Telematics Research Group for undisclosed terms. TRG, based in Minnetonka, MN., tracks, analyzes and forecasts the markets for automotive telematics, navigation, digital entertainment, and advanced driver assistance systems. TRG’s operations will be integrated with the existing iSuppli Automotive Infotainment and Electronics Services, along with its research on vehicle Microelectromechnical Systems (MEMS), to provide a comprehensive analysis of automotive electronics, technologies and related services. Phil Magney, founder and principal analyst for TRG, will head the expanded iSuppli automotive research practice.

Existing TRG offerings will largely remain the same in terms of packaging and coverage. Deliverables and client portals will not change at this time, nor will user names, passwords and service terms. There will be no disruption in service for existing customers.

In 2006 iSuppli purchased Japan-based Data Garage, an established market intelligence firm whose offerings include analysis of the Japanese automotive electronics industry. In April, iSuppli announced the acquisition of Germany-based Wicht Technologie Consulting (WTC), the leading provider of research on the markets for photovoltaics and Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS).
