Toshiba passes five million automotive HDD shipment mark

Toshiba Storage Device Division (www.toshibastorage.com) said it has shipped more than five million hard disk drives for automotive applications including enhanced navigation, multimedia entertainment and infotainment.

Toshiba Storage Device Division has shipped more than five million hard disk drives for automotive applications including enhanced navigation, multimedia entertainment and infotainment. The company holds 85% of the automotive HDD market according to Techno Systems Research Ltd.

Toshiba is currently shipping 30 GB and 40 GB automotive-grade hard disk drives and said it has worked with more than 15 car equipment manufacturers to integrate automotive-grade HDDs since 2001.
