Exceptional cooling performance is said to be achieved by the Zephyr line of 2U low-profile chassis. Designed for housing CompactPCI systems, the new chassis employs a fan tray that offers a side-to-side airflow path in a push configuration to cool boards and power supplies. Airflow distribution is said to be uniform throughout the front card cage, with total airflow pegged at 41 cfm. The removable, 3-fan tray can also be equipped with a fan monitor with status LED. The IEEE 1101.10/.11-compliant chassis permits horizontal mounting for 6U x 160-mm cPCI cards from the front and 6U x 80-mm I/O cards from the rear. The chassis has a 4-slot backplane and numbers among its options single, dual or embedded power supplies, ac or dc. And it holds a 3.5" hard drive. Architecture of the backplane is PICMG 2.0 R3.0 CompactPCI with optional H.110 CT bus (PICMG 2.5). Zephyr prices start at $882.
