Beyond its 650 MHz of processing power, the CPSB-560 UltraSPARC-IIi+ embedded server blade features full PICMG 2.16 CompactPCI packet-switching backplane (cPSB) compliance. Complete with dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, the board also includes up to 2 Gbytes of SDRAM. It's targeted at high-performance, energy-efficient applications in the communications, storage, industrial control, and aerospace markets.

Requiring minimal space, the CPSB-560 provides a PCI mezzanine card (PMC) slot and an Ultra3 SCSI (low-voltage differential) interface. Dual USB interfaces are accessible via the rear transition board. Two of its four RS-232 interfaces have hardware handshake capability. The board's intelligent platform management interface (IPMI) controller complies with PICMG 2.9 specifications.

An optional on-board integrated development environment (IDE) hard-disk drive is available with 30 to 60 Gbytes of memory. The CPSB-560 is currently available through Force's Early Access Unit (EAU) program. Volume shipments are scheduled for January 2003. Pricing starts at $2940 each.
