Claimed to be the industry's fastest VMEbus-to-PCI bridge, the VME320 OmniVME backplane is capable of sending data across the VMEbus at speeds up to 1 GB/s. It is also claimed to be the first such bridge to implement full VME64 extensions, which include geographical addressing, status and control register (SCR), and SRAM for Intel processor communications (IPC). The board supports 16-, 32- and 64-bit transfers and can act as a master or slave with full Slot One system control functionality. Full driver support for Windows NT, VxWorks, and Linux is included. Samples are available now with production quantities slated for the third quarter of this year. Pricing is less than $100 each in OEM quantities.
