The 5359 Series FabricPac SM CompactPCI 2.16-compliant switch fabric platform complies with both RoHS Level 5 and NEBS Level 3 requirements and includes two redundant IPMI system management cards. Providing support for single- or dual-system operation, the IPMI system managers are integrated into the chassis to provide a fully system-managed environment including the cooling unit, system temperature, power supplies, fabric switches, and boards. The FabricPac SM offers dual ac or dc inputs via 600W or 400W PICMG 2.11 power supplies and allows for a system using both legacy bus-based and next-generation fabric base boards. The platform is 19" or 23" rack mountable and features a 15.75" (9U) x 12" enclosure. Delivering an average airflow of 400 LFM per slot, the cooling system employs an evacuation design that is supported by a front-removable fan tray containing three fans. Airflow is front intake with rear exhaust. Additionally, a switch fabric backplane delivers a maximum throughput in excess of 40 Gb/s. To ensure forward/backward compatibility, the backplane supports 10 2.16-fabric-node slots and two switch slots.
