Introduced as the industry's fastest CompactPCI single-board computer, the CX269 exploits the power of two hyperthreaded Pentium IV Xeon processors with each delivering a peak performance of 2.6 GHz at 35W. The board includes a 6-channel video subsystem and employs a 4-port, switched-fabric hub to achieve an aggregate I/O bandwidth in excess of 10 GB/s. It supports up to 8 GB of DRAM and comes with three Ethernet ports, eight USB ports, Ultra Wide SCSI 160 or 320, PMC expansion, and two 800 MB/s 1394B ports. Other features include 64 MB of disk-on-chip flash memory, a health monitoring system compliant with the PICMG Baseboard Management standard, and separate variable-speed control circuits for each fan with a separate tachometer. Software support includes Windows 2000/XP, Solaris-X86, QNX, Vx-Works, and Linux. Single-unit pricing starts at $2,400. GENERAL MICRO SYSTEMS INC., Rancho Cucamonga, CA. (909) 980-4863.
