Crimp Connectors Flaunt An Extremely Low Profile

Feb. 1, 2001

With a profile of just 2.8 mm and a thickness of 4.9 mm, the Type SJN board-in, crimp style connectors are suitable for use in high-density consumer or industrial electronic equipment. The connector is available in nine circuits rated at 2.0A (ac/dc) and can accommodate wire sizes from AWG 30 to AWG 24. Applicable board thickness is 1.2 mm to 1.6 mm. Operating temperature range is from -25°C to +85°C, including temperature rise in applying electrical current. Resilient solder tails are said to ease assembly and provide a secure lock of the connector onto the printed circuit board prior to soldering. The connectors are typically priced at $0.15 each in quantity.
