Allowing users to customize their power connections, the modular Power Dock connector system is a board-to-board interconnection system with a wide range of options. These include vertical or right-angle board connections, up to three separate power-mating sequences, press-fit or solder through-hole termination, 6- or 24-circuit signal modules, and self-aligning configurations. Offered as drop-in replacements for existing power connectors, the new connectors have hot-pluggable power contacts, capable of handling up to 35A each, with an option to include signal circuits. UL approval is pending. Selecting the appropriate connector system can be done at the Power Dock Configurator web site. A typical mated pair in high-temperature LCP with three power blades and a 24-signal circuit with gold-plated pins, mounting ears, and guide pins is priced at $14.95 each/10K. MOLEX INC., Lisle, IL.
