D-Subs Pack COB EMI Filters

Aug. 1, 2001

Low-cost filtering to eliminate electromagnetic interference (EMI) is provide in the Series 100 D-subminiature connectors through the use of chip-on-board (COB) filters. The COB filters consist of chip capacitors surface-mounted on a pc board integrated into the connector. The filtered D-subs have a 0.318" footprint, permitting them to be used as drop-in replacements for unfiltered designs. They also feature a dielectric withstanding voltage of 250 Vac for 5 seconds and a current rating of 5A. Series 100 connectors come in 9-, 15-, 25- and 37-position versions and are compatible with full metal shell cable connectors. Right-angle-mount designs are currently in production, with vertical-mount and solder cup termination styles to be released soon. SPECTRUM CONTROL INC., Fairview, PA. (814) 474-1571
