Elk Grove Village, IL-A new packaging service called GPAX, available from Nu-Way Electronics Inc., has been developed for the purpose of packaging odd-form circuit components for automatic assembly onto pc boards. The packaging is a form of tape-and-reel that allows automatic handling of odd-form components that cannot be handled with conventional tape-and-reel methods. The parts are restrained in the containers with a clear, plastic tape and both surface-mount and through-hole components are accommodated. GPAX is an efficient replacement for tube packaging. Pre-punched tape technology, combined with its packaging permits controlled insertion of varying sized and shaped components.
