Embedded Wi-Fi Module Eases Space Concerns

Dubbed the market’s smallest, the Nano WiReach embedded Wi-Fi bridge connects any embedded device to 802.11b/g wireless LANs with minimal programming and measures 1.7 cm x 3.3 cm. Multiple hardware interfaces and extensive firmware functionality are on board as well as a comprehensive suite of Internet protocols and applications. The firmware supports several modes of operation including LAN to Wi-Fi Bridge, serial to Wi-Fi Bridge, full Internet controller mode, embedded IP routing, and PPP emulation. Interfaces include RMII, USB, SPI, and UART interfaces and the module is available in two versions, one with an antenna connector and one with a built-in antenna. Available in November, pricing starts at $59 each. An evaluation board, the II-EVB-363MW, is also available. CONNECT ONE SEMICONDUCTORS INC., San Jose, CA. (408) 572-5675.
