Expanding the MMCX, MCX, SMA, and MHF families of connectors are a variety of ganged RF board-to-board jacks, plugs, and cable assemblies that make up the GRF1 series. Ganged RF cable plugs are offered for terminating two, four, six, or eight wires, or two, four, six, or eight connectors, simultaneously with either a standard 26 AWG coax cable or a high-performance 26 AWG coax cable exhibiting a dielectric constant of 1.4. Standard board spacing is 4.5 mm. Captive screw receptacles are available on the jacks for mating with wire assemblies. Ganged assemblies are available with captive screw options for rugged applications. Standard assemblies are available with wire lengths from 6” to 1m. Custom cable assemblies are also available in prototype to mid-size quantities. Prices vary by pin count and cable length. For example, an average price per position is $15 for a cable system and $8 for board-to-board sets. SAMTEC INC., New Albany, IN. (800) 726-8329.
