The new AC101x family of 64- and 32-bit PCI Gigabit Ethernet controllers boasts of reduced cost, power consumption, and board space requirements. The AC1011 10/100/1000Base-T PCI LAN controller is designed for 32/64-bit PCI V2.2 server/workstation applications and includes a 10/100/1000 PHY and 48-KB packet buffer. For workstation and desktop applications, the AC1012 combines a triple-speed, IEEE 802.3-compliant MAC, 32-bit PCI V2.2 bus interface, 10/100/1000 PHY, and a 48-KB buffer memory. Both devices are fabricated in a 1.8V CMOS process. Software support is via Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/NT 4.0, Novell NetWare 4.11/4.2/5.x, and Linux.
