Backward compatible with the Jupiter 12 family of GPS receiver modules, the Jupiter 21 comes in two configurations: standard with GSW2 navigation software for most applications and the high-sensitivity Jupiter 21 S with SiRF XTrac software for general navigation in low GPS signal situations. Both configurations measure 40.6 mm x 71.1 mm x 11.5 mm. Shared features include upgradeable flash memory, algorithms for urban environment tracking, an on-board low-noise amplifier that supports active and passive antennas, a power consumption 75 mA, power management options, user-selectable WAAS/EGNOS compatibility, and RoHS & WEEE compliance by 2006. The receiver is currently available in sample quantities, with production scheduled for later this month. NAVMAN, Foothill Ranch, CA. (866) 962-8626.
