The Millipacs Type C headers are now available with Pin-in-Paste (PIP) termination, a technology common to daughter card connectors found in rack systems. PIP is also making headway in board-to-board and wire-to-board applications in the telecom and industrial markets. According to the company, the technology helps to process SMD and THR components on the PCB using the same machines and procedures in a single step, and eliminates wave/selective soldering or press fitting. The 2-mm Millipacs family consists of five- and eight-row versions employing reflow temperature-resistant resin. For more details, call FCI USA INC., Etters, PA. (800) 237-2374.
