High-Density Connector Has Low Resistance

June 1, 2001

New elastomeric connectors, called the Silver ZEBRA series, feature high density, low resistance, and high electrical and mechanical reliability. The connectors have a continuity resistance of less than 0.5 ohms and a current carrying capacity of 700 mA. Said to be an excellent choice for applications where contact pitch at .100 mm is required, the connectors are available with 0.05 mm dielectric barrier or silicone rubber barriers from 0.38 mm to 1.5 mm. Uses include chip-on-glass LCDs, connecting EL and plasma-type displays to PC boards, and connecting hybrid circuits to PC boards in configurations such as board-to-board and chip-to-board memory cards. Pricing starts at $0.01 per contact.
