Described as a data acquisition and processing system-on-a-chip (SoC), the ADuC845 micro converter integrates two 24-bit sigma-delta A/D converters with 10 single-ended or five differential channels in either a 52-pin PQFP or 56-lead CSP. The SoC employs an 8-bit, single-cycle 8052 flash MCU that processes up to 12 MIPS. Conversion throughput rate is up to 1.3 kHz maximum. The device employs a patented high-frequency chopping scheme on both the primary and auxiliary ADCs. This reportedly results in superior dc-offset and offset-drift specs. Other features include a temperature sensor, PGA on the primary converter, 12-bit output, dual PWM outputs, two current sources, reference voltage, an oscillator, and a PLL that generates the 12.58 MHz clock from a 32 kHz crystal. A UART and SPI and I2C interfaces are also on board. Prices for ADuC845 with 62 KB, 32 KB and 8 KB of flash code space are $16.68, $14.83 and $13.16 each/1,000, respectively.
