Introduced as the first PCI/ISA chassis in the industry to be built using a lightweight, aluminum construction and said to offer exceptional accessibility, the 503 series enclosure weighs only about 16 lb. and provides front access to peripherals and fans. Access to all internal boards is via a single-tool, single-screw operation. The enclosure measures 19" x 7" x 17" and also features three horizontal, half-height peripheral bays, one full-height internal drive bay, and a floppy drive bay. Also included are a 10-slot ISA or PCI/ISA passive backplane and either a 300W switch-select or 320W autoranging 90 to 264 Vac PS/2 power supply. Options include a 250W hot-swap power supply, a transparent Lexan door, and a dust cover. Targeted applications include a wide range of industrial, factory-floor, and other computing applications where the environment is not equipment friendly. Prices start at $695.
