Intelligence Marks Microstep Driver

Feb. 1, 2000

A driver and smart controller board for operating stepper motors, DCB-26 is an all-in-one subsystem designed for OEM applications using linear actuators and rotary steppers. The bipolar power outputs are adjustable over 1A per phase and a choice of resolutions including 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and high torque full step. Intelligence is provided by an embedded µC with serial or non-volatile execution of a 30+ command set. With six general ports, jog, limit/home sensor inputs, and 2K user sequence memory, the standalone capability makes it possible to eliminate additional controllers or computers in many applications. Step pulse and direction inputs permit motion via external pulse sources, retaining limit switch protection and position counter functions. A companion mini-motherboard simplifies product interface, and this dual axis board has an RS-232 interface.
