Kit Revs Up Prototyping Of IAP Embedded Systems

Designed for prototyping in-application programmable (IAP) embedded systems using any of Infineon's C166 microcontrollers, the DK4000-C167 development kit includes a fully populated development board, a serial UART cable, and a power supply. It also comes with the company's FlashLINK JTAG programmer and Windows-based PSDsoft Express EDA software to perform in-application programming from a PC. A manual, application notes, and reference designs are also included. The development board includes a C167CR microcontroller, the company's PSD4135G2 with 512 KB of flash, a second 32-KB flash memory array, 8 KB of SRAM, and a 3,000-gate CPLD. The C167 has a CAN bus that is typically used in real-time control applications in automotive power trains and industrial controls. The kit costs $149 and can be purchased directly from the company's web site.
