Offered as the latest member of the companyÕs Embedded Memory Companion chips, the S1D13A04 is a color/monochrome, 2-D accelerated LCD graphics controller with a 160-KB SRAM display buffer and a USB 1.1 client. Targeting portable-device applications, the S1D13A04 is said to offer savings in board space and power consumption with respect to comparable devices. The on-chip 2-D engine is compatible with all operating systems that require windowing functions and comes with royalty-free drivers for Windows CE, Palm, Linux, and other operating systems. The device also incorporates the companyÕs patented SwivelView feature that allows 90û, 180û or 270û hardware rotation of the display memory.
