Predicting lower bill-of-material (BOM) costs, the SP7682 handles both camera flash and display backlighting chores. The device delivers 500 mA for flash operation and provides four channels for backlighting applications. It also trims board-space requirements in its 3 mm x 3 mm package. Options include an I2C serial interface control or a single-wire control. Other features include a 2.4-MHz switching frequency, programmable flash time-out protection, six-bit DAC for current settings, under-voltage lockout, current limit, thermal shutdown, and over-voltage protection.
