The LMS Series of lens-and-litepipe units is designed to provide moisture sealing and dust control for display panels when the LED is attached to a circuit board. The lightpipe is tubular in shape and attached to a lens, which is fitted with a rubber-type gasket. The lightpipe is molded from an optical grade acrylic plastic for clarity and optimum light transmission. The unit provides a 180° viewing angle and is designed for use with both surface-mount and thru-hole LEDs, horizontally or vertically mounted on the circuit board. In addition to sealing against splash and drip conditions, the units and their retaining system also resist shock and vibration. The components are available in red, green, amber, yellow, blue and clear. Length options vary from 0.360" to 1.360". The 5-mm LMS units with retaining ring are priced at $0.63 each/10,000.
