Flexible and rigid LED linear strips have been developed for handling edge-lighting, complex contour backlighting, task lighting, and commercial signage assignments. The LED strips can be used to place white or colored lighting in virtually any design that uses printed-circuit boards operating on 10 or 24 Vdc. They are said to be easy to install, with the rigid versions using screws or adhesive and the flexible types having a pressure-sensitive tape backing. The LEDs come in white, yellow, red, green, blue, and violet UV models, with a range of power supplies, connectors, and optics also available. Pricing starts at $9.95 per lineal foot.
