Up to 128 GB of NAND flash memory is provided by the C212 Series of non-volatile VME bus board configurations. The memory is supported by software drivers to provide full hard-disk emulation for 128 GB of mass storage in COTS applications. Applications are in high-density data storage such as detailed maps, large databases, radar or sonar images and other graphics. The data transfer rate is up to 20 MB/s when operating in A32 block transfer mode on the VME bus. An optional Flash Memory Manager (FMM) software package for VxWorks automatically treats the flash memory as the system’s disk drive and provides real-time OS support. An FMM feature ensures balanced write-erase cycles. Available in commercial and military grades, price starts at $4,100 each. AITECH DEFENSE SYSTEMS INC., Chatsworth, CA.(888) 248-3248.
