Now available to serve power interface applications, the Scorpion series of power connectors are modular types that can be quickly turned around in an infinite variety of customer-specified contact variants. Designers can configure a power connector for their individual requirements from a wide array of “modules.” The Scorpion’s modular tooling provides multiple keying options, yet still provides a one-piece insulator for use in the finished connector. Power options include 60 A in size 8 contacts, 40 A in size 12 contacts, and 30 A in size 16 contacts; contact resistance values are as low as 0.001 ?. Size 22 signal contacts are also available. Blank module options allow the user to space power and signal contacts to meet creepage and clearance values required for specific applications. Contact terminations include board-to-board, board-to-cable, cable-to-cable, and panel mount options. A wide variety of accessories is available, including ventilation slots in the connector housing, integral blind mate system, integral locking system, float mounts, and panel-mount clips.
