Dual-Channel PMC Handles Video Capture Chores

The Argus/PMC video display adapter employs a pair of Borealis 128-bit 2D/3D graphics controllers with 16-Mbyte SGRAM that handle up to 1280-by-1200 displays. The Argus/PMC’s two independent video digitizers each have three video-capture channels. Both channels have hardware scroll, pan, and cursor support. Software is available for VxWorks, Windows, and Solaris. The Argus/PMC costs $2463.

Linux Server Tackles Industrial Environments

The Mini Server mSVR/816 handles data-collection and data-logging chores in harsh environments. The fanless design, based on the SSV DIL/NetPC, packs up to 64 Mbytes of RAM and up to 32 Mbytes of flash. Peripherals include Ethernet, serial, CAN, and GPIO. An incorporated compact flash adapter supports memory cards. The system offers an integrated Web server for remote access with embedded security support.

DIP Switches Enable Radio-Modem Field Setup

Using DIP-switch settings, the XStream Stand-Alone Radio Modem is field-configurable. It operates at 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz at distances up to 1500 ft indoors and 10 miles with high-gain, line-of-sight antennas. Also, it supports data rates up to 19.2 kbaud, with interface rates up to 57.6 kbaud.

Personal Video Recorder Chip Packs Own CPU

The single-chip ZL10320/321 personal video recorder (PVR) contains a dual-channel demodulator, a PVR controller, MPEG-2 video/audio, and a PowerPC 405TM CPU Core with 16 kbytes of data and 16 kbytes of code cache. Also incorporated are six video digital-to-analog converters, dual # PAL/NTSC DENCs, I2S digital audio input and outputs, S/PDIF output, a SmartCard interface, and an integrated-development-environment interface. A Linux-based system development kit is available. Pricing for the ZL10320/321 starts at $44.

4U AdvancedTCA Rack Provides Performance In Compact Package

The 4U ATCA chassis has a horizontal backplane with a five-slot Mesh ATCA configuration that complies with PICMG 3.0 specifications. The IPM Sentry software, developed in cooperation with Pigeon Point Systems, handles standard system monitoring. The unit has dual redundant 48-V dc inputs. Each cooling fan can dissipate up to 1000 W. Pricing starts under $3300.

Passive Cooling Doesn’t Melt When Dealing With Hot SBC

The PP 200/01x handles a 2.2-GHz Pentium 4 M processor with a 400-MHz front side bus. The CompactPCI board, which can contain up to 2 Gbytes of 200-MHz double-data-rate SDRAM with error-correction code, has an Ultra-160 SCSI interface, a 64-bit 66-MHz PMC site, and three Gigabit Ethernets. There are EIDE options for an on-board 2.5-in. disk drive or dual CompactFlash/IBM Microdrive carrier. Other peripherals include a floppy-disk interface, two RS-232 channels, two USB ports, a parallel printer port, watchdog timer, keyboard/mouse interface, and Silicon Motion SM722 graphics interface with DVI-D support. The PP 200/01x supports the PICMG 2.16, PICMG 2.9, and PICMG 2.1 standards. PP 200/01x pricing starts at $2500.

Integrity RTOS Supports Dy 4 PowerPC Boards

A version of the Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS) has been released for Dy 4’s SVME/DMV-181 SBC (www.dy4.com). Based on a 500-MHz Motorola MPC7410 PowerPC with two PMC slots and dual 10/100-Mbit Ethernet ports, the SVME/DMV-181 features an SCSI adapter, six serial ports, GPIO, and two USB ports. The Integrity board support package includes support for these peripherals. The Multi development system also backs integrity.
