Putting cost and power concerns under a microscope, the SpacePC 8500 CPU board enlists a frugal, low-voltage 400-MHz Celeron processor that teams with an 815E chipset and, as a result, the board does not require a fan. The 90 mm x 96 mm board features four USB ports, an Ethernet interface, two RS-232 ports, parallel port, floppy-disk port, VGA interface, LVDS LCD interface, one AC'97 bus, auxiliary power, keyboard and mouse ports, and an Ultra DMA IDE controller that supports any type of IDE flash device.
