Melding together tools from Cadence, OrCAD and Synchronicity, Internet Engineer is said to create an all-inclusive pc board design environment that enables engineers to tap the power of the World Wide Web to provide immediate access to design data and to enhance communications among geographically dispersed design team members. The Web-based engineering environment offers a comprehensive, Internet-enabled solution for component information retrieval and management, design management, multi-site design team coordination, and pc board intellectual property (IP) reuse.Among the tools bundled into Internet Engineer are: Cadence's Project Manager, an HTML-based project and tool management system, and an Internet-based parts browser; OrCAD's Component Information System and activeparts.com, which electronically catalogs over 500,000 commonly used components from more than 500 manufacturers; and Synchronicity's DesignSync Web-based design management system for controlling access to critical design data for engineering teams. Internet Engineer works on Windows NT and Unix workstations.
