Pentium II-Based SBC Is Built For Rugged Applications

On the MSC-367 single-board computer, the installation of the Pentium II processor is done vertically and parallel to the CPU card, allowing the unit to fit in a single card slot width. The resulting improvement in data speed performance at 100-MHz bus speeds pairs with a high degree of ruggedness to make the board suitable for harsh applications prone to vibration, shock and high EMI levels.Two 168-pin DIMM sockets with ECC can support up to 512 Mbytes of SDRAM. Also featured as standard are a PCI or ISA bus drive and compliance with ACPI power management and PC'97 standards. A multi-I/O chip included on the board supports two serial ports, one parallel port, and one floppy drive interface for up to two drives. There's an Ultra DMA/33 disk controller and an ATA EIDE dual channel interface for up to four devices. The system follows industrial PCIMG PCI/ISA requirements and offers complete compatibility for an upgrade of all current backplane-based IPC systems. Other standard features include a specially designed 1-kbit EEPROM that provides read/write data for user programs.
