PMC Module Provides Two Dual Redundant MIL-STD-1553B Interfaces

The PMC1553 communications engine provides dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553B interfaces along with an eight-bit TTL parallel I/O port on a single PMC module. The combination is said to allow the addition of dual 1553 functionality to a VME bus board while occupying a single VME slot.
A complete interface between a postprocessor and the MIL-STD-1553B bus is implemented using the company's ILC-DDC BU-61688 Mini-ACE advanced communication engine that provides 64 KB of shared RAM. Via this communication engine, the PMC 1553 offers BC, RT and MT modes of operation that are independently selected on each channel.
There are eight each of the TTL-level user inputs and outputs using open drain output drivers. All lines have pull-up resistors to 5V. The PCI interface is 33 MHz, 32-bit, 5 or 3.3V with an interrupt on INTA#.
