Maintaining RoHS compliance, five additions to the C-class family of POL converters promise dramatic savings in board real estate and external component costs. Three are part of the LDO-C series, offering a choice of 3A, 6A, and 10A outputs, while the other two are SIL-C2 family components with 20A and 40A outputs. The LDO-C converters accommodate an input range of 3 to 13.8 Vdc and have an output range of 0.59 to 5.1 Vdc. The two higher power SIL-C2 converters have an input range of 4.5 to 13.8 Vdc. The 20A SIL20C2 provides an output range of 0.59 to 5.1 Vdc, while the 40A SIL40C2 delivers a 0.6 to 5.0 Vdc output. All five employ a fixed-frequency switching topology, an open-frame, single-board design, and operate in temperatures from 0°C to +70°C with suitable derating. Depending on the model, prices range from $4.95 to $18.90 each/1,000. ARTESYN TECHNOLOGIES INC., Framingham, MA. (888) 283-3122
