Broadening the Multi-Beam XL line of modular power/signal connectors are cable-mount connectors that terminate wire sizes up to AWG 8 with voltage and current ratings up to 600V and 55A, respectively. The connectors operate on a single contact and satisfy the requirement for hot-swap and cable I/O applications. Added features to eliminate contact back-out and satisfy safety agency concerns include high-strength housing materials, terminal-position assurance (TPA), and insulation crimps. Two versions of the connectors are available: a floating panel-mount style for blind-mate drawer applications and an I/O style that features a traditional squeeze-to-release latch for connecting to a circuit board through one connector. Pricing for a 1P/24S/1P, SSI-compatible connector kit is $5.50 each/1,000. TYCO ELECTRONICS, Harrisburg, PA. (800) 522-6752.
