Touted as the market's thinnest 2", QVGA daylight-readable module, the company's display employs LTPS technology in conjunction with ultra-thin capacitors to achieve a thickness of 0.95 mm. A unique chemical etching process allows trimming of both bi-panes to a thickness of 0.2 mm and further size reductions are achieved via 0.25-mm light guides. Also, a proprietary gate-driver circuit removes the gate driver capacitors from the glass and places them directly on the printed circuit board. Placing the capacitors under the contact ledge is said to reduce dead area on the glass. Engineering samples of the 2" QVGA module are currently available with chip-on-glass and chip-on-flex foil modules with 0.2-mm glass sizes becoming available in early August.
